Oh the rain, will it ever go away

Yesterday Elena had class. We had talked about going back to the pool once class was over. Oh no, the clouds moved in and the rain came. Instead we took her to eat at Chick fil a. We love eating there. Elena seemed to really like the chicken sandwich. We also went looking for some socks for Kyle's trip coming up. Hard to believe he will be flying out next Thursday for 2 weeks of fun in Montana.

Around 4 the sun was out and it was warm. I asked everyone if they would like to head to the pool for a few hours before dinner. Everyone was excited to go. Well the thunder started about an hour and half after we got there but we did have fun floating the lazy river with only 4 other people in it.

I made Taco's for dinner. I had been telling Elena that Taco's were for dinner for about 3 days. But with everything going on I didn't have time to make them. Taco night in our family is the only night we have a food fight. Ever kid dreams of having a food fight, well in the Samuels house we have it on taco night. Elena was unsure what to thing. I kept throwing cheese and onions at Jason. We didn't go big this time, but Elena will be eating taco's again.
Making our plates. It was nice to hear that Elena's family also eats together. We all talked and laughed at dinner

We finally made time to try the treats Elena brought for us.
Everyone liked this one. There is a thin ( almost like paper) wafer on the outside and almonds and honey in the middle. Very crunchy and not a sweet as I thought it would be. In the picture below is the second one we tried. This looked and felt like wet sand. It smelled very good. Jason and the kids like it but not me. Elena got to see me gag when trying to eat it. The texture of it got to me. I do understand now why a lot of the exchanged students were having problems with how sweet our candy is. This is candy for them and it is sweet but only honey sweet.
